Bio-Trim

Bio-Trim is a combination dietary supplement formulated to assist with effective weight reduction. In contrast with the rapid weight loss achieved via crash dieting (i.e. based on a dramatic reduction in food intake), Bio-Trim is aimed at controlled long-term weight reduction, obtained via the manipulation of specific areas of metabolic biochemistry relevant to weight reduction.
Bio-Trim contains four substances, each of which relates to a specific metabolic area as outlined below:- l-carnitine, chromium, coenzyme Q10, and a plant extract from the Malabar tamarind (Garcinia cambogia), an Indian fruit used in curries.
NB. Please read individual descriptions of the active ingredients of Bio-Trim within this section.
Who may benefit from this supplement? Bio-Trim is designed to compliment the diet nutritionally at times of weight loss. Bio-Trim is aimed at controlled long term weight reduction in conjunction with healthy diet and exercise as oppose to crash diets that are based on drastic cut of food intake.
BIO-CLA + Green Tea

C.L.A is the most abundant polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) found in human tissues. Most of the C.L.A in the body is of dietary origin, obtained mainly from dairy and meat products. However, due to modern farming methods, food processing and modern diets (high amounts of convenience foods which can be high in saturated fats and low in PUFA’s); the amount of C.L.A we can obtain from food is reduced. Increases the discharge of fat from cells enabling the body to alter Composition by reducing fat levels. Helps to increase lean muscle mass. Green tea: all teas (green, black and oolong) are derived from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. The difference is how the leaves are prepared. Green tea, unlike black and oolong, is not fermented, so the active constituents remain unaltered. Serves as a mild appetite suppressant, Inhibits fat digestion, increases calorie burning, increases energy expenditure, Decreases body weight, decreases waist circumference. Who may benefit from this supplement? People trying to reduce fat levels and appear toned via Lean Muscle Mass. Best when combined with exercise and healthy diet.
Bio-Quinone Q10

Coenzyme Q10 (also known as ubiqinone) is a vitamin like substance which plays a vital role in the body’s energy supply mechanism, acting in conjunction with enzymes (hence the name coenzyme Q10) to convert sugars and fat into energy. Coenzyme Q10 is also important as an antioxidant within the body. Coenzyme quinones occur in several chemical forms, with coenzyme Q10 being the only form found in human tissues. The human body is able to synthesize (in the liver) a limited amount of coenzyme Q10, with the remainder being obtained from the diet. Rich sources of coenzyme Q10 include fish (mackerel, salmon, sardines) and nuts. Under normal circumstances, the body is able to maintain adequate levels of coenzyme Q10. However, coenzyme Q10 levels decrease with age, and are depleted by intense physical exercise or illness. Coenzyme Q10 levels are also depleted in patients prescribed cholesterol-lowering statin drugs. Who may benefit from taking this supplement? Every single person who cares about their body!!
Bio-Fish Oil

Essential polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), vital to the normal functioning of the body, belong to several different chemical PUFAs), which differ from omega-6 PUFAs found in vegetable oils. Omega-3 and omega-6 PUFAs have different roles in body metabolism. Fish oils contain about 50 different fatty acids, and are the main source of the omega-3 essential PUFAs eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexanoic acid (DHA). EPA and DHA levels are very low (or absent) in domesticated land animals. The habitat in which the fish grow has a major influence on their fatty acid composition. The fish obtain omega-3 PUFAs by eating plankton, which in turn contain more omega-3 PUFAs the colder the sea water (cold water fish also have a higher fat content). Cold water fish such as salmon, tuna and mackerel have the highest levels of omega-3 PUFAs. Farmed fish fed commercial fish food contain lower levels of omega-3 PUFAs.
Bio-Multivitamin and Mineral

Bio-Multivitamin & Mineral is a composite nutritional supplement containing a range of antioxidant vita-mins and minerals, together with other relevant micronutrients. These include as primary antioxidants: vitamin A (as retinal), Chromium, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E, and selenium; as secondary antioxidants: vitamins B1, B3, B5, zinc, manganese, and copper; as supplementary nutrients: vitamin B2, vitamin B12, folacin, biotin, vitamin D3, and magnesium. Bio-Multivitamin & Mineral does not contain iron, which may exacerbate the effects of oxidative stress (see below) under certain circumstances. Because antioxidants act within the body in a synergistic (mutually supportive) manner, multiple supplements are more effective than large amounts of single antioxidants, hence the rationale for Bio-Multivitamin & Mineral. Antioxidant levels may be depleted in individuals consuming a diet with a high content of convenience foods, or individuals undergoing vigorous physical exercise. Who may benefit from this supplement? Those needing immune support. Those with restricted or poor quality diet. People under-going physical exercise.
Bio-Carnitine

Carnitine is an amino acid-like substance that is synthesized in the body from the amino acid lysine. Carnitine is important in the metabolism of fat and energy production within the body, and helps maintain healthy heart, skeletal muscle and liver function. Carnitine may also improve athletic ability. Some carnitine may be obtained from dietary sources, primarily meat since vegetables and fruit contain relatively little carnitine. Athletes are most at risk from carnitine deficiency; vegetarians may also be at risk of carnitine deficiency if their diet contains low levels of lysine. Carnitine supplements are available in several chemical forms- only the L-form of carnitine is biologically active (the D-form is inactive). Carnitine levels are reduced by a high fat diet, certain drugs (e.g. valproic acid antibiotics) or metabolic stress. Who may benefit from this supplement? People who wish to maintain Healthy cholesterol levels and people with high energy outputs who undertake exercise programs. Reduces build up of lactic acid which would result in cramp and fatigue
Bio-Chromium

Chromium is a trace mineral essential for normal metabolism and growth, being a key factor in the processing of sugars and fats within the body. Dietary chromium is obtained from wholemeal cereal and grain products (provided soils are not chromium depleted), nuts, seafood and yeast. Highly refined foods (e.g. refined sugar, refined flour used in white bread) contain little of this essential mineral, which is also easily lost during cooking or food processing. Chromium supplements are available in both organic and inorganic forms; although inorganic forms of chromium are cheaper, the body absorbs organic forms of chromium much more efficiently. Chromium supplements are available in several chemical forms (e.g. chromium picolinate or chromium polynicotinate). Chromium plays an important role in the natural weight-regulating mechanism Of the body, promoting muscle growth and inhibiting the development of obesity. Chromium deficiency results in spontaneous hunger, even after meals. Who may benefit from this supplement? People with non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes Under the guidance of a GP/Family Doctor. Helpful for people who experience sugar cravings. Those who experience lack of energy due to low sugar levels between meals. Those who want to lose weight by reducing ‘Hunger Pangs’ experienced between meals. Those requiring an aid to calorie reduction.
Bio-Glucosamine Mega

Glucosamine is a naturally occurring sugar-related nutrient which is important in normal joint function. It is produced within the body but the capacity to manufacture sufficient levels declines with age. Supplements are the best if not only sources of Glucosamine as there are no obtainable food sources. Who may benefit from this supplement? Anyone with joint problems whether weight related damage or damage through Osteo or Rheumatoid Arthritis. Those who are exercising, having not exercised for a while or whilst carrying excess weight.
